After several nights of little sleep, mainly due to the long list of 'to do's' before leaving home, Sean drove us to XNA at 4 so we would be there in plenty of time for our 7 a.m. departure. Thanks to too many zippers on my cargo pants, I experienced my first TSA pat down. First flight, great, but second flight, had to go back and get on a different plane due to mechanical problems. Ended up reaching Atlanta still in plenty of time to meet our shuttle driver, Willy, who has hiked the AT 3 times. Four other hikers were in our group, and we hit Subway, then arrived at our first stop - the Hiker Hostel.
