Gorgeous start at Springer Mt.

Starting the hike today at Springer with clear skies, 70's temps. Nice group of excited folks. Great night of sleep and wonderful breakfast. There was a small group at the top taking pics. We got out of our van with Kenny and Ryan, 2 best friends from Phoenix, Pete, a Canadian Indian, Runner Hiker (trail name) and Warren. Kenny and Ryan are in their twenties. The rest are our age. At the top there was a wild-eyed guy smoking and loudly proclaiming that there would be trail magic at Gooch Gap. Gooch Gap here we come!
