Chateau Morrisette with the Kosinsky's

(Jack and Barb in front of their beautiful home at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia)

Today was a special treat, as the Kosinsky's took us to a vineyard in Virginia for lunch. I've always wanted to visit a vineyard, but have never done it. We traveled about an hour and a half south of their home, and arrived at a vineyard just off the Blueridge Parkway named Chateau Morrisette - what
Gorgeous views!
We had wonderful food (shrimp and grits) with wonderful company. Then we took a tour of the winery - an incredible structure - the largest timber peg building made from reclaimed timber in the country!
We are so sad that our little vacation from the trail has come to an end. Tomorrow morning, we hit the trail again. Thank you so much to Jack and Barb for making us feel so "at home," and giving us the royal treatment! It will prove to be one of the most memorable parts of this trip! Now, we have a Swamprat to catch!!!!
